Yan Li
Yan received her bachelor’s degree from Beijing Normal University and her PhD in History from The University of Connecticut. Yan taught various history courses at two universities before moving to North Carolina. There she worked at Duke University for nearly two decades, where she managed its Asian/Pacific Studies Institute. She oversaw the Institute’s many programs, chief among them an MA program in East Asian Studies and the Duke Study in China Program. She also managed the institute’s budget, staff, and its faculty and student grants, including external grants. In addition to FAPA, Yan also volunteers at an Art Museum in Baltimore and is conducting research on the early Chinese immigrants of Baltimore.
Edna Hu
Edna received her bachelor’s degree in food science from Cornell University and her master’s degree in health science from The Johns Hopkins University. Edna is a quality management and regulatory affairs consultant with over 30 years of experience in FDA-regulated industries. Her expertise includes compliance audit, process validation, and training programs on ISO standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Edna was the founder of BIoCI Systems Inc., a company that specialized in the manufacturing of sterilization indictors and provided consultation on sterilization validation. She is the Founding Director of the Quality Management Program at ShanghaiTech University, where she has developed coursework and certification programs for medical devices and pharmaceutical sectors.
Charlotte Zhang
Charlotte received her bachelor’s degree in economics from Hunan University and her master’s degree in finance from Brandies University. Charlotte is an experienced accounting professional with over 20 years in financial operations, reporting, tax compliance, and HR management. She currently serves as Assistant Controller at Arrendondo & Co. LLC, overseeing financial operations, HR, and tax compliance for a real estate portfolio and related entities. Previously, she led global reporting and systems implementation at Forum Partners, and held roles at Audax Group and Citi Group, specializing in fund operations and financial reporting. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in the state of Connecticut.
Huiping Jiang
Huiping received her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Nanjing University, PhD in cell and molecular biology from Clarkson University, and postdoctoral training at CalTech. Huiping is a molecular and cell biologist with more than 25 years of experience in drug development. This includes leadership roles at Valerio Therapeutics, Epizyme, Boehringer Ingelheim and AstraZeneca, with expertise spanning global regulatory affairs, quality assurance, esearch and discovery. She also served as Chief Regulatory and Quality Officer at Sironax, which is an emerging leader in the discovery and development of transformational therapies that address the root cause of age-related degenerative disease. Outside of work, Huiping is passionate about giving back to her community. In addition to FAPA, she also serves as a board trustee for her homeowners' association and is an active member of her neighborhood gardening projects.
